It's My Turn

Why Now?

I love teaching and learning maths.  I've been teaching maths for 13 years, and every year, my desire to know more, teach better, and help all of my students to strive higher has grown exponentially.  The difference is that now the power of my exponential function is greater than 1!   I want every student to love learning maths, and every teacher to love teaching maths.

For the past 5 years I have entrenched myself in following the best of the best maths bloggers, accessed the best maths and teaching/learning research through professional organisations, and implemented teaching and learning ideas that I have accessed and or adapted from other mathematics practitioners and online resources from around the world.  Through online professional learning communities,  my work has become more personally and professionally rewarding, for both myself and my students.

I have come to realise that it is my turn now to share my knowledge and confidence in teaching and learning maths with others - not because I am an expert, but because I am a learner.

I hope you enjoy this blog.  For me it will be reflections on the great things achieved each week in learning, growing, and becoming an even better Mathematics teacher.
